R E V I E W ↪ Things We Never Said by Samantha Young

THINGS WE NEVER SAID

Local metalsmith and gift shop owner, Dahlia McGuire, likes her quiet life in Hartwell, Delaware. It’s the perfect place to hide from her family and the tragic events that led to their estrangement. However, when her father, the person she loves most in the world, needs her Dahlia has no choice but to return to Boston to face her ghosts. One of those happens to be her ex-boyfriend’s best friend, Michael Sullivan. The man she was never supposed to fall in love with.

Michael Sullivan has never forgotten Dahlia McGuire. Some might say he’s never gotten over her. For years he lived with the anger of her desertion, and now, newly-divorced, he’s finally ready to move on. That proves impossible when Dahlia returns to Boston and reawakens their explosive connection. Despite everything, Michael wants her back, but Dahlia can’t seem to let go of the tangled emotions of the past. When she flees home to Hartwell, Michael follows, determined to do everything in his power to convince her they belong together.

However, when the unthinkable hits the quiet seaside town, Michael finds himself trying to unravel more than the mystery of Dahlia’s broken heart. It’s time for truths left unsaid to finally be spoken or Michael and Dahlia might find themselves torn apart forever…

Life had kicked me in the gut that day, but I knew I'd be okay as soon as he was gone.

This is not my first read by author, she happens to be one of my top 10 favorite authors and someone I have been reading from the very beginning and many years. So the excitement of having a new book and the blurb that caught my eye, I couldn't wait to dig in.

The beginning of this book is FANTASTIC, being naked in an art-gallery as the art..is probably a fear for a lot of us but not Dahlia, just kidding she was equally terrified but the money she was being paid for that, it was well worth it. Until she met his eyes. Then:

Book Quote:

Bringing my hand up to my face, I curled it into a fist, except for my middle finger, which caressed my cheek with a pointed "fuck you" glare.

THE INTENSITY OF THIS BOOK IS INSANE!

When Dahlia has to go back to her hometown after nine years, it stirs up a lot more than emotions...regret, pain and agony. I was on the edge the whole time during this! *sigh* You can say my heart was breaking for her so much! The mystery, lies and suspense was shocking in the best ways. You will NOT be prepared for their conversation, that..alone brought me over the edge seriously!! Then mid-way...*shatter* that's the sound of your heart!

Part II

This was a shock to see, because I wasn't sure what was to come. Boy was I not ready, part II make me feel like this is a whole new book! It's fantastic and I don't want to spoil much for you but BE PREPARED! Everything from what I said before but up it by 100. More emotions, more fun, laughter, more things to come out form the shadows and more pain..different kind but more pain. Friendships are formed, and hearts well i can't tell you if they were mended or not, but it's very beautiful. Absolutely devoured this book, I must have it in paperback, this is re-read worthy. Samantha Young can do no wrong in my eyes, always loved her books and this just proves it even more, she can't write anything bad. EVER!
