This is not my first read by the author, I actually read book #1 and was looking forward to this, because Parker was so mysterious to me. Therefor I already knew I was going to enjoy this book!
Parker carries a very heavy burden on his shoulders, one that weighs him down daily and hides the real Parker from everyone and anyone! He sets out to scout locations for a new retreat, no one's better than Parker and his taste and eye. When his rental car starts to drive funny, he pulls into a small town to get it checked out, gets a ride to the nearest hotel and BAM! Emily!

Emily, now this is a SASSY HEROINE, ha, sassy like UBER SASSY! I loved her from the beginning. It's all fun and games until that 'panty-melting smile' she didn't fall for in the beginning started to craw up her. I really liked their dynamic. The outside characters were charming too, for instance the father of the heroine, he was like a perfect dad, someone you read about and think, huh...my dad is just like that. It's a part of why I really like Carly Phillips writing style.
The up's and down's a normal couple goes through is heightened with Parker and Emily only because of their story and recent events, but that doesn't stop actually, they couldn't stop the feelings they were having for one another if they tried. Seriously love the chemistry between these two! Unexpected ending and a beautiful story! Can't wait for more!!
