NOT my first read y the amazing Helena Hunting, just to clear it up!
Now, this book! My good god, I kept reading faster to get to certain scenes (haha) because this to me is Fifty Shades meets NHL. I kid you not, so freaking steamy!
Charlene proved to be a problem from the beginning when Derrel met her. Refusing to obey something he had asked, but rather challenging him. A challenge Derren gladly accepted!
Forward some time, and you have a well oiled relationship, so to say. The fifty shades really comes out in a more serious sexy NHL player way. They have crafted rules and regulations, ones that Darren let Charlene construct.
Everything words great until that one day, that one day where...you'll end up re-reading that section twice (like me) because it was that good. When Darren overcomes the fear and tells Charlene his deepest dark secrets, everything starts to change even more. Yes, Darren didn't want to keep the lid closed on that jar he had his little firefly in, but he also wanted to keep her.
Changes is hard for Charlene for so many reasons, so many that when they do come out, she is not sure that she can accept the change and jump into the unknown. Where Darren wanted to move forward, Charlene was happy to be where they were.

This is NOT traditional love story, i will tell you now. I haven't read one like this in a while and forgot how much emotion is brought out in me because of it. p.s. THE COVER of this book will soooo totally make sense after you've read it! SO SEXY!!
If you love sports, passion, heat (so much steamy heat), little bit of BDSM and whole lot of broody, dark but wit the biggest heart sexy tall hero...this is for you! Regardless, this is worth a read even if you're not. It has a consistent story line with the other books, the writing is always fantastic from Helen, but KEY here: her sex scenes, burn it up!!
FIVE STARS all around for this book. Highly recommended!
