To put it bluntly, my life sucked. When I finally got up the courage to divorce my jerk of a husband, never in a million years did I imagine his prick of an attorney would gain him full custody of my daughter. My scant two weekend visits per month killed me. And my ex made it as difficult as possible on me every single time. So imagine my shock when said attorney’s name appeared at the top of the list at the in-patient substance abuse clinic where I worked as a counselor. My list. The first thing that occurred was I completely lost my Zen. Then my blood boiled. Then his chart flew across the room and slammed into the wall. How could this possibly be happening? Karma couldn’t be this cruel. How in the world could I be an empathetic abuse counselor to the cocky Pearson West, who destroyed my life? I would rather become an addict myself, or better yet, strangle him first.

Just from the BLURB I knew I would like the story line.
The start to this book was heartbreaking, but I had a form of hate also. What Pearson was doing and going through, I can from a medical point understand but from a being a human point I was angry with him. I wanted him to be stronger, but when the last straw was drawn, he finds himself in the arms of the woman of his dreams. Only that woman is the very same he made sure that her life was hell. Now watching him try to make right in his world, get clean and struggle with triggers...you can not help but fall in love with him. He is alpha, he is mysterious and he is mega sexy!
Rose, god my heart went out to her. All she wants is her daughter and to get away form the monster that is making her life a living hell. When she ends up with the very man that is part cause of that pain, how cruel can life be? The love Rose has for her daughter is beautiful. She is strong yet very vulnerable, will Pearson be the man of pain and pleasure?
This is a hard and beautiful story. I was not expecting what I read and how. I am glad I gave this a chance and will be reading the other book's as well.
High 4.5 STARS for this book & highly recommended!
